46th Annual Meeting
President's Message
Surf's Up! Grab your board and get ready to Hang 10. The island paradise of Hawaii and the wide sandy beaches of Waikiki are the setting for you to put your best foot forward as you ride your way through what will surely be wave after wave of meetings and social events.
The Hilton Hawaiian Village® Beach Resort & Spa on the beautiful island of Oahu is the site for the 46th Annual Meeting of the household Goods Forwarders Association of America. On behalf of the HHGFAA Executive Committee and Associate Memeber's Management Board, as well, as the YP-35 Management Board, the staff and I are delighted to invite HHGFAA members and special guests to join us for the moving and relocation industry's largest and most important annual gathering and trade show.
Surfing and negotiating unpredictable waves seems to be a fitting metaphor for what the global household goods transportation and forwarding industry is currently facing. From rising fuel costs to continual changes in business rules and regulatory requirements, not to mention the uncertainties of the world's economies, change appears to be the only true constant.
"Riding the Waves of Change"
Thus, we have chosen the above conference theme, since we believe it highlights the many strengths of our annual gathering in bringing together expert "wave riders" from all over the world to share and exchange their thoughts and best practices to successfully negotiate the turbulent waters ahead.
As you have come to expect from the premier networking event in the industry, at this year's HHGFAA conference attendees will enjoy countless opportunities to network with fellow movers and vendors from around the world, as well as, renew old business relationships and personal friendships. We will offer a variety of programs and educational events with up-to-date information on trends, events, and regulations that have a direct impact on you and the rest of the industry.
Our meeting is never all work, so besides the variety of shops and restaurant Waikiki Beach has to offer, you will have unlimited opportunities to enjoy the many outdoor and tourist activities found only in Hawaii, so there is plenty to do for everyone.
Well over 1600 attendees from around the world are expected to attend this year's Annual Meeting, so don't delay - register today, and sign up as an exhibitor or sponsor.
Mahalo,
Terry R. Head, President
Household Goods Forwarders Association of America, Inc.
